About Modern Myth

From education to food to housing, we strive to do everything we can to improve the lives of our artisans(migrant karigars) and their families. Through our completely self-funded brand Modern Myth, we’ve been able to support every artisan that joined our team since our inception. We provide our artisans food, accommodation & recreational activities in addition to fair wages. To date, over 20 craftsmen including their families have benefitted from this. During the first & second wave of Covid-19, we ensured & financed the livelihood and safety of our artisans by providing them essentials, medicines, routine tests & getting them vaccinated. We believe in creating fashion with passion, all Modern Myth products are handcrafted using animal-cruelty free, durable & quality materials like cork, cotton canvas and vegan leather. Being avid animal lovers & welfare volunteers, our founders take pride in this fact. Little do we know where our entrepreneurial careers are headed, but we know that we're curious to find out. Oshina and Saurabh, the atypical duo of a textile designer from NIFT and a civil engineer are the co-founders of Modern Myth who met in school and like any other teen-flick - fell in love! Oshina, has worked with leading apparel and home furnishing brands along with independent design projects which allowed her to closely work with Indian craftsmen & come up with offbeat designs which were loved by both Indian & International audiences. However, these experiences were plentiful for her to realize that more could be done in the space of Indian handcrafted fashion. With affordable & designs that attracts multiple generations who love to experiment with their fashion. An eye for fashion, and a knack for market, blended with the zeal to be the #Girlboss gave rise to Modern Myth.We began by setting up a small workshop with a team of 4 Indian craftsmen in New Delhi & after 4 months of sampling, trials and tribulations, getting paperwork done, finalizing designs & photoshoots, & making about 300 odd pieces for the first batch of designs & finally launched on the day of love - 14th Feb 2019! Within six months, our brand started receiving an overwhelming response from all across India & was onboarded by beauty giant Nykaa, followed by leading platforms like Myntra, Amazon, Flipkart, Ajio, Snapdeal, LBB & Fynd. We have a family of over 60,000 happy customers as on January 2022, and this would not have been possible without the love we have received from people across India. Our aim for the next Financial Year? Simple. We aim to win more hearts, bust more myths & uplift more artisans of India by generating more employment. And You can help us in doing so.
